About Quicksilver

We're excited to join you at the table. May we together find nourishment.

It started in a garden...

In January 2020, Garden City Church announced their plans to send out Associate Pastor/Elder Fred Mok to plant a new church in south San Jose. This new church would have its own name and be financially independent but share the same DNA of Garden City’s mission of making disciples as well as vision, values, doctrine, and ministry philosophy. Quicksilver Church has the privilege of being the charter member of the Garden City family of churches.

In Spring 2020, Fred and his wife Judy, began to gather a core team from Garden City and other local churches. They met over Zoom and then began weekly public services at William Street Park in December 2020.

Behind the Name

Quicksilver is a nickname for Mercury.

Fred grew up next to Quicksilver County Park in the southern area of San Jose. The park is home to one of the oldest and most productive mercury mines in the country. Mercury was used to mine gold during the California Gold Rush in 1848-1849.

Today, the world still comes to Silicon Valley seeking riches and Quicksilver Church exists to help people find true treasure.
